Exhibition “Venice 1945. City of Refuge”
Documents and stories of foreign Jewish refugees from concentration camps who found shelter in Venice.
The Veneto was an important point of transit where many Holocaust survivors found refuge.
There were many organisations, not only of Jewish inspiration, that helped to create a network of solidarity for the refugees, providing them with homes, hotels, clothes and free meals.
